Is It Really Freedom Of Speech?

I’m not really sure about the whole issue of the cartoons that have been published in many newspapers around Europe. Not to mention the reaction of Muslims around the globe.

It started in Denmark, and then to France... etc
Then Jordan published some of the cartoons as well.

They all say its freedom of speech, but it back fired at them strongly.

So, does that mean freedom of speech has its limit?

If Muslims just ignored this issue, will it become a habit that Islam will be insulted? (It’s not like it haven't been for that last decades).

And if the Muslims react strongly and aggressively they're called violent and hateful.

So how should we (Muslims) react?

I wonder!!!

Please let me hear your intakes about this.

Well this is my humble opinion on how to react:

1) There shouldn't be any reaction at all. Most of the Muslim world is ruled by corrupt dictators, it suffers from huge unemployment, lack of education, little respect towards human rights, etc etc etc. Given this situation, some cartoons should be the very last of our worries.

2) We need to recognize that there have been and always will be people who hate and ridicule our Prophet. If we prevent them from drawing a cartoon, then they will still think of him in a bad way. It makes no difference whether those thoughts are on paper or in someone's mind. The best thing we can do is to show respect to everyone, which will help correct the reputation of Muslims and our Prophet. By reacting aggressively, our Prophet's reputation is only made worse.

3) If you really really insist on doing something then take action against the newspaper and the cartoonist... not against all of Denmark. Boycott that specific newspaper. Or file a complaint against the newspaper in the Danish courts for inciting religious hatred. There are lots of Danes who respect Muslims, so it doesn't make sense to punish them also.

Anyways thats my view.
